Layout uses notebook as visual metaphor

A metaphor describes something new in terms of something that we are already familiar with.  Metaphors can be a cool and simple visual device that helps us to intuitively recognise the familiar. This page is laid out as it was in a spiral notebook.  The target audience for this Mexican magazine is for young women.  Spiral bound notebook is an object that has a familiarity to most people despite gender.


teamSimon is a Sydney based digital designer. He is the Director of a boutique digital design studio, Bailey Street Design located in the vibrant inner west suburb of Newtown. Simon studied graphic design at Shillington College and specialises in web design for small and medium size businesses. Simon and his team (Toby the studio dog) are passionate about visual communication in the digital environment
