czech studio architektura completes the administration building of a concrete manufacturing company in strančice, a village on the outskirts of prague. the concrete structure takes its cues from the raw industrial character of its surroundings that include a concrete mixer and a 40-meter tall agriculture silo.
cast entirely in-situ, the building features 1-meter thick walls that require no further finishing or cladding. the architects left the installation of building elements visible while aluminum windows in various sizes follow the sun’s movement and frame outside views. the thermally insulating concrete roof doubles as a parking lot alongside a photovoltaic power plant that incorporates electric car chargers. grown trees have been preserved and surround the site.
