Lines, Swirls and Curves of Staircase Photography

If you ever thought staircases were boring, these images by Christian Theile will definitely change your mind. Though working in the field of neurobiology, Theile was drawn to the world of photography, shooting landscapes and macro for some time. But his love (and talent) for capturing architecture is evident in his staircase photographs: taken from above and below, his carefully composed images of swirls, lines and curves make us appreciate the beauty of something so ordinary. As staircases are mostly hidden, he has to research each location and ask the necessary permissions. A fan of minimalism, his dream location would be Scandinavian countries. His Instagram and 500px have more images – make sure to visit.
