At the time (Early 1960’s) Kristian Vedel’s chairs, ottoman and glass topped table were a completely new concept in furniture. They were stand-alone pieces or could be placed together. These chairs demonstrate a mastery of deep-seated lines comfort and easy lines.
The 1956 slotted child’s chair was formed from curved plywood.
He took a decidedly simple and functional approach to furniture design and production and in 1955 he set up his own design studio in Copenhagen.
