The Modernist Hotel Sets Its Roots Inside a 1920s Heritage Building

The recently opened The Modernist Hotel in Thessaloniki, Greece strikes the perfect balance between contemporary hospitality design and old-world, heritage architecture. Set in a 1920s building that was restored by the city following a great fire, space was converted into a 40-room boutique hotel by FORMrelated Studio in a total redesign with “a minimalist yet a sensual style that pays attention to detail and moves between art deco, mid-century detailing and Danish design.” The simplicity of the guest rooms creates a space for uncluttered relaxation that’s only enhanced as guests settle into the custom furniture and take in the room’s contemporary design details.
